I waved to 5 people just to see if they waved back today... and NO ONE DID... why is that?

It's because today's culture is one of isolation. Technology is evolving more and more to make it so that none of us ever has to physically interact with someone else. Phones, text messages, email. One doesn't even have to go to the grocery store in most places thanks to shopping online. As such, the desire to physically interact is lessening each day. Strangers rarely even talk to each other these days unless they're in a situation where it's impossible not to. Welcome to the future.

Honey when I grew up in Tennessee we would sit on the porch and everyone waved at us and we waved back. Today the world has changed so much. The people you wave at may try to come back and rob or attack you. The same thing about hitch hiking. People could catch a ride with just about anyone. Now you're afraid to pick up the person that needs a ride. Hitch hiking is almost a thing of the past. I won't even stop to help someone stranded in their car. Not that I don't want to be a Good Samaritan, I'm just afraid. I bet God is sick of us when he looks down from Heaven and sees what we've become.

Do like I do. Wave all 5 first, if they don't respond, just wave 1 as they go by!

Cause people have no respect or cares for anything or anyone anymore. It's hard to trust people at all. It use to be in the old days I heard...that people were friendly and waved to other people. Or when a kid was acting up another adult in the town could correct them or say " Johnny I'm gonna have a talk with your parents". Now in days try that and the kids mama would come down the street to kick your @** for saying something to there child. Or the child him/herself would just cuss you out. No respect .... from what my grandfather has told me , there was something special about the good ol days.

They might think your waving at someone else. The other day this lady at Wal-Mart started waving at me frantically in the parking lot.I looked behind me and didn't see any one so I waved back, she went running past me and latched on to some guy that I apparently didn't see. From now on I'll only wave back at people that I know.

I hate when people don't wave back. That happened to me just yesterday. Me and a bunch of friends were yelling "Sup?" and waving to people in cars with their windows rolled down and nobody said anything back or waved back. I was like "those people have problems!"

They probally think your a bit of a hippy looper. If some random person waves to you sometimes your better judgement will say "if i wave to him he might come over and say hi". Dont take it personally, could just be the side of the earth your on, i know country folk are big fans at waving at strangers

People are just plain rude these days and if someone is being friendly to them they get suspicious... unfortunately it's the day in our world today.. I would have waved back... Here's a wave to you.. :-)

probably because people are rude and inconsiderate.. also people aren't used to strangers being nice. i wave to people all the time when im driving and mostly they just give me weird looks, but other times they wave and smile back.

They didn't wave back because they don't know you.
