Moderate Democrats such as myself realize that abandoning the Iraqi government in 120 days isn't a solution. We realize that because Jimmy Carter abandoned the Iranian government in 1979 and that was a disaster.
Unfortunately the spoiled children (ala Paris Hilton) of our party who have no concept of the real world (aka the liberals) are pretty vocal.
Remember, during WWII the whiny liberals refused to go to the aid of England, France, etc., etc. even though millions of people were dying. It wasn't until Japan attacked us that they changed their tune. FDR my a**, if it wasn't for Japan attacking us the world would be speaking German.

Where the heck did you get that idea from, do you know anything about history at all man, jeez haha, lmao, and maybe you should tell the families of the 4000 troops killed in iraq that the rebublicans are worth a crap. All republicans want to do is fight, keep doin that and all our money will be gone but i dont agree with democrats either. thats why im canadian, were not so crazy. And that David C guy knows nothing, political oppinion so outweighed going to work the government had no choice, that and the depression wasnt even over and everyone wanted to avoid a conflict.

Most Democrats and Republicans circa the World War II era were isolationists. Only a few politicians thought the United States should get involved in foreign wars, even to liberate people from an oppressive, genocidal maniac dictator, like Saddam Hussein. But if you use the analogy of comparing World War II to the Iraq War, then I understand why you might think that modern Democrats, if transported back in time, would object to World War II. If they consider Bush a warmonger and a war criminal, then I wonder what unkind words they'd have for FDR who knowingly leveled towns full of innocent civilians just to win the war.

We weren't in WWII all by ourselves. We weren't paying for WWII all by ourselves. We went into the war due to various treaties with England and France and Russia. We went into the Pacific theater due to Japanese attacks on American soil at Pearl Harbor. We went into this Iraq war for no reason at all. The president during WWII was a Democrat, the present president is a Republican.
I fail to see even the slightest correlation between the two wars, no matter how strained the analogy might become.
