What do you want him to do about New Orleans? In 1994 there was a PBS Frontline special about how New Orleans is a bowl under sea level just waiting to be flooded. But the Democrat-controlled city and state were on the case! And they had millions and millions in fed money to make it safe. We were all assured.

Turns out they squandered the money on other things. So that's Bush's fault?

And as far as the damage still there... why isn't there a similar problem in Biloxi and other areas of Mississippi? Let's see... the people there came back and rolled up their sleeves and did the work that needed to be done... while the people in New Orleans... oh, well, what do you know, they're still in Atlanta, Houston, and other parts of the country. Go back? Hell no, not until the work is DONE!

The real question is: why aren't prominent BLACKS with multi-million dollar salaries and the power that goes with it converging on New Orleans and helping their own brothers and sisters rebuild it better than before?

Hmmm. Could it be, they just don't think it will matter? They don't want to spend money on another disaster waiting to happen? They'd rather keep it alive as a political issue and just keep blaming Bush?

When a hurricane dropped a tree through our roof, we were out there hours later cutting the tree and already making minor repairs. We finished the real repairs within a week. Did we WANT to do all that? Heck no! It was a LOT of work. I had better things to do. My husband had to take off from work too. But we did what needed to be done.

It's too bad people from New Orleans don't take the same kind of pride in their own work efforts. Or maybe they are just content with the money they got, and they're moving on.

The last news report, yesterday: They're looking for 128 million dollars that went missing for New Orleans.
Then there's all the people, I think about 40% they don't even know where these property owners are, then again, over half the homes have been abandon and, the property owners can't be found so. I guess the people of New Orleans have to show some interest before outsiders are going to.
Then there's the question still standing about all the people that misused the money they were given.
New cars were bought before homes were repained or cleaned out, trips over seas were taken. People moved into luxurious condos out of state and burned up the money for thier homes.

the second-have you ever been there?the devastation is so horrendous that even if we took the money from the war,the social programs and every other free program it would make only a dent.
the pictures you see on TV don't even come close.it's mile after mile after mile after mile of broken houses and trash.
