Yes. Let's attack a secret underground organization that doesn't leave a trail except when they do it on purpose. Remember we tried this. Just a little too tough to look in every single cave in Afghanistan to find these people. Plus the fact that that whole part of the world hates us, so they support them financilly and help to hide them.
But other than that, yes we should do something about it.

What on earth are you babbling about ??
Bush has done something about al-qaida.
By deciding to wage an illegal war that was based upon a pack of filthy lies that has resulted in the slaughter of over 400,000 innocent Iraqis, Bush turned a "terrorist free" Iraq into a "terrorist haven."
Bush;s atrocity in Iraq has been a fantastic recruiting opportunity for Bin Laden.Bush has energized these terrorists and increased their ranks by literally thousands.
Bush gave Bin Laden a "wonderful" present.Bin Laden himself could not have devised a plan better than Bush's to beef up his "gang of merry men".
Bush's action have justifiably angered Muslims around the world making them much more sympathetic to the al-qaidas of the world.
Now EVEN YOU would agree that Bush has done something about al-qaida but sadly it is not the "something" we all wanted and expected but quite the reverse.
Then you ask,"shouldn't we go on the offensive more /".
Are you mad??
Bush went on the offensive and has made al-qaida much stronger and Americans and others a hell of a lot less secure.
Bush's profoundly ludicrous decision to war against Iraq in some sort of demented effort to stop terrorism was doomed from the start and the MILITARY KNEW IT !!!
In all military colleges, they have courses of course on terrorism and the first axiom about terrorism is you MILITARY ACTION IS EFFECTIVELY USELESS AGAINST TERRORISTS.
Terrorism, as attested to by the terrorism that hit Europe in the 70s and 80s ,is FOUGHT by POLICE FORCES at all levels working closely with police forces in other countries.,by security personel ,by street intelligence,by COVERT activities of infiltration etc.
The MILITARY is simple not appropriate to fight terrorism ,It is too "blunt".The military can fight conventional wars but not terrorism for terrorism works among the population often hidden and indistinguishable from the general population.
Everything the mentally dysfunctional Bush has done has merely embolded Bin Laden ,increased his memberships ten fold and created a huge sympathy factor among not only the Muslim world.

Any suggestions? Al Qaeda is bunked down in Pakistan - our nuclear-armed 'ally,' where the regime is to fragile to survive the concerted effort it would take to evict them.

Yeah, because people LOVE it when we go on the offensive right? I am so tired of hearing about how we're not doing anything to protect our people, but then get criticized when we actually go off to fight the bad guys. You can't have it both ways.

The only real way to stop AQ from attacking inside the US is to limit or stop all muslims from emigrating or visiting the US. If you were inviting 100 people to a party in your home, and knew that 1 of them was planning to murder your family, why not cancel the party?

man al quaeda is like hooodini. one minute al quaeda is in afghanistan and then pooof, they are in iraq. then this summer chertoff says they will magically pooof arrive in the US and do something (his gut told him). Al quaeda is like the invisible man, when he is there you can't see him and when he is not there, you can't see him. Kinda hard going on the offense when you can't see your enemy.

We will be seeing them soon, bush is doing his best to give them their own country, they'll probably rename Iraq to bush-Dom!
The only way anything will be done is when we get bush the hell out of office,

We are not accomplishing anything in Iraq because there is just more violence there and Al-Quaeda is in Pakistan and has pre-9/11 strength!
