I seriously don't think I should be spending more than $25. I have a 2000 Honda Civic CX hatchback. Right now it's got about 111,000 miles on it. HELP PLEASE.

You can do it yourself for about $12 if you buy a pro select oil fitler and 5 quarts of Napa oil. There are some places that will do it for $19.99, but you have to be careful sometimes they won't change the oil and just replace the filter or change the oil and leave the old filter on. You get what you pay for and if you skip out on quality service it may cost you more in the end.

By the time they've put in oil, oil filter, gaskets, etc., and paid for disposal of the old oil and contaminated parts, the mechanic has earned roughly 2-3 dollars. What you need to do is take it somewhere where they won't replace any of the gaskets and where they will put in 99 cent recycled oil. You'll get a real bargain there!!

I think the dealer charges like 25.... but try to shop around, call places locally. And tell them that their competitor's price is cheaper.

I agree with bungee and what ever you do don't take it to the dealer.
