I mean, look carefully at it. Try to be objective, as if you are not a Anti or a Pro McCann..as if you know nothing about these 2 people, and have been asked, as maybe part of a Psychology Test or something, what you notice here?

Goblina, I wasnt "expecting" anything, it was a genuine question. We all see things differently, as the mix of answers here shows. I didnt expect anyone to see the photo quite as I did, but a few did. I expected "types" of answers from both sides of the McCann debate obviously, but I didnt know if people saw what I saw, thats all.

Rosie and Eye in the sky, you both picked up on something similar to me...I feel (and it IS only my opinion, before you all get your fingers ready to click on the flag) that this photo shows a very controlling, abusive man and a very controlled, abused woman. Gerrys "holding" of Kate isnt being supportive. Its being, in MY opinion, restrictive and reminding Kate who is in charge. I even find it a bit threatening to her. Also, although it doesnt show up so well on this photo, if you look at Kates arms, there appear to be a series of bruises, the kind you get if someone grabs you very hard? Can anyone else see that?

Jack, I noticed that too, Gerry seems to be digging his fingers into Kates shoulder. Yes, she looks scared, downtrodden, and Gerry looks as he always does, as if theres a bad smell under his nose. There is no way that is an "equal partnership".

This is a posed photograph, it's not a natural repotage shot where they've just been caught unawares by a photographer.

So they've been sat down by the photographer with the photo of Madeleine and probably been told what faces to try and pull.

Weird, why would you want to sit there posing for pictures when instead you could be out searching for your missing child.

Why is the picture of Madeleine not in the centre of the shot? Surely, if this is a press photo to draw attention to Maddie, her picture should be in the middle? Why is it only on Kate's lap, not Gerry's?

Also, you know the black and white family portrait on the Find Madeleine website? My other half saw that, (he had no idea who the people in the picture were) and asked "Why is no one touching the little girl at the front? Why isn't she in the middle?" I don't know if that means anything, but it struck me as odd too. A Family group portrait is usually posed more symmetrically than that, in my experience.

If i didnt know them I would say the mother looks devastated and the dad looks like a control freak who knows more than he is letting on, which is what I have thought from the beginning. This was a good photo to illustrate my personal view.

i see distraught woman and a very controlled man... too controlled in fact with a smug like look on his face. his eyes, i can't quite explain the look in his eyes. those look like bruises on kate's left arm. the way he's holding her does not suggest a 'comfort hold' more like i'm in charge here.

That she is genuinely concerned and the picture is in front of her only and held by her only.
It looks like he has added himself to the picture and she does not want him there or feel comfortable with him.
She looks tense and small, whereas he is taking up more space, like intruding on territory.

I find the bruises on Kate's arms very interesting, how did they get there? Also she is way too thin, an eating disorder?
Gerry looks quite calm, very much in control of whats happening, his arm around his wife is a bit disturbing, he seems to be "guiding" her. Gerry is in control - no doubt.

Defiant, controlling look in his eye. A sneer. The way he is 'holding' his wife. It's like he is keeping her under control and she is not happy with it. In fact she looks almost scared ??

Sorry I did not read your full question ! Just went to the pic and then looked !

You can see the huge bags under Kate's eyes. She looks distraught. I cant see it so much in Gerry. He is hard to read..always looks like he is in a room with something that smells bad.

Hereos? Come on that is going a bit far don't you think? Heroes protect...those children should have been protected better. Common sense is what was lacking in that apt on May 3.

EDIT: hope you see this BB..I had to crop the picture to just arm and sharpen it but yes her left arm is covered in bruises. I am not going to say how they got there as I don't know but they are there none the less and I would think since we knew about what she ate, how far she jogged if she had some sort of fall or something Gerry would have definately wanted people to read it on his blog as to feel more sympathy.

I see two people who are distraught, because
their child is missing. And nothing more!
