There are courses on rapid reading which are quite useful and effective. Many techniques are used. A tachistoscope flashes words and groups of words onto a screen to train the brain to grasp longer text strings at once. Starting with narrow columns, you practice reading a line at a time, and having your eye scan steadily down the page. Regular comprehension testing makes sure you are really getting the content. Before and after testing measures your progress. In my class, my reading speed doubled, and that was the lowest percentage improvement in the whole class.

reading fast is not necessarily good.... but if you like to know how reading the first and last letters of a word are shown to be recognized by the brain and then interpreted so try using first and last letters of words then also skiping things like "the""IS" "and" "was" this should be a good start if you need help on speed reading just ask i have more tips when need be!

know the language and read lots(lots and lots). If you know the language, you will be guessing the next word before you even see it because of sentance structure.
