2 days ago i woke up w/ really bad pains in my pelvic area and i had to get up from the bed and sleep on the floor just so i could put pressure on my stomach. well today i went to use the restroom and when i went to wipe i noticed my urine was brown. i didnt think anything of it until the second time i went and i noticed that it was much worse then before. i know i'm not pregnant because i dont start until august 3rd, and i ended july 5th. so thats not the case. it just kind of worries me. i looked on the internet and it said it could be old blood, but how could that be possible? i've never had this problem before. if you could help me i would really appreciate it. thank you

I'm assuming that the whites of your eyes are not yellow in which case you would be jaundiced with liver disease. With the pain, most likely you have a urinary tract infection. Go to your doctor, get a urine culture, and most likely get on some anti-biotics..

It very well could be old blood, but the pelvic pains make me worry.

Usually, darker colored urine-- yes, even up to being very dark brown-- happens because of high levels of dehydration. Basically, all of the minerals and such that you are getting rid of have condensed because you didn't have enough water in your system. This happens with people who drink a lot or loose a lot of water in other ways.

Dark urine can also happen when you have a lot of excess material to be gotten rid of even when you're properly hydrated (I notice that urine colors change for me when I'm taking antibiotics, for example)

I would suggest visiting your doctor if the pains continue or if you think you need to go, already.
In the meantime, drink plenty of water, and don't stress out your system with heavy, fatty, or salty foods for a few days. I'd suggest fresh fruits or vegetables. (try cucumbers or apples, since they contain a good amount of water and could help do more nutritional good than simply drinking a lot of water all day long from a glass.)

I would advise seeing a doctor, could be a bladder or urinary tract infection, requiring antibiotics. It may also be dehydration, so make sure you drink plenty of WATER. Often, brown color in urine, is blood from an infection, and there is usually pelvic pain as well. See your doctor as soon as possible, and start drinking cranberry juice

Next time it's brown you should go to your doctor. Now it could be alot of old blood, but I doubt that it is the way you explained, but it can also be kiney failure. Sometimes if it's brown it's kiney failure (learned that from House). You should see what your doctor say about.

Good luck hope your better.

sounds like you must have a nasty infection. Go to the Dr ASAP. Normal urine should only be yellow or clear(if you drink lots of water)

IF you are on meds some meds will turn your urine a different color. IF this is not the case I would call my dr. ASAP.
