I have a red ear slider, and it is annoying me. It stinks up the tank. I gotta change it every week. It probabbly is giving me stomach aches and bad poop. It's just annoying to care for an animal. It's like 4 or 5 years old.

please people. he was only a few dollars and he came with a nice little small tank. i was dumb back then. now he's overgrown and he's a pain to deal with. i have a life... should i let it free in the wild.
Do pet stores accept my turtle? Will he return back to the ocean if i flushed him down?

You should have known that it was a commitment back then. Don't tell us that you were stupid back then, all owners will face these kind of problems. And a week of changing water isn't so bad. Try making schedules that'll balance its cleaning time, etc.

These types of turtles do very well in retention ponds and other small bodies of water where other aquatic life is already thriving. Releasing it into the wild at the water line best.
You should not try to give it/sell it to any pet store or other retail agency, as they have no idea of the health of the turtle and most good stores would refuse to accept it because of that. Your turtle could be carrying something that could spread to other turtles in the same tank.
PS. If there are lots of turtles where you release them, go by and visit now and then. Turtles love cat food as a snack and go crazy for many types of pond fish food as well.

I have a terrible story about my turtle, I was letting it get some sun and I guess I let it sun bath too long and I forgot about it and I baked the poor thing,I felt so bad about what I did. Some times we get a little to compulsive on buying pets we really don't have any business owning. I didn't do a very good job with taking care of my turtle.

Local Humane Societies and Shelters within your living area is the answer to your problem. If give your pet away to one of those organizations, then they will try to get a new home for your turtle, which will surely be caring and loving for your pet.

Try to find it a better home. Turtles are a lot of work and require fresh food and clean homes. Don't give it to a little kid.

You can try a pet store and if they won't take it many of the free papers allow you to put an add in them for free if you are giving him away for free. Try the free press or the thrifty nickel.

DEAL WITH IT! You should have read up before getting one, they live 40 years. I have had mine for 7 years and they have never annoyed me. BTW don't release it! It is trained to be hand fed. It won't survive in the wild. Just keep it!

Why did you get it in the first place? People like you give other animal owners a bad name. Give him away, apparently.

Give it to the local feed store. The feed store would be happy to take the turtle off you hands.
My friends hamster had babies and they gave them to the feed store, they were happy to.
