I've heard that holding one's breath while going under a bridge/tunnel will make a wish come true. Wishing on the first star seen is supposed to work too. The groom who sees the bride in her dress brings bad luck. Walking under a ladder is supposed to be bad, as well as breaking a mirror, black cats, and Friday the 13th.
I've also heard that for belly dancers, that if the veil lands on her head that is supposed to be good luck. (As a dancer, I know that they just say that to make the one dancer feel better about screwing up a flip!)

A Chinese superstition........ Don't step over a baby (ie, when changing it's nappy on the floor) or you'll stunt it's growth.
Ones that got me a bit spooked - don't paint when you are pregnant or the baby will be born the same colour as the paint!! I decorated my new home whilst preg and my son was born with a totally white arm! Also, don't hammer any nails when pregnant or the baby will be born with a dent on it! - I have to say my cousin was born with a dent in his chest.........

When driving over a railroad track, touch your fingers to a screw and lift both feet up off the floor of the car.
A related one is to kiss your fingers and touch them to the roof of your car. I've heard it where you have to do it when you run a yellow light (Florida version), or when you see a car with only one headlight on (North Carolina version).

Where I live there's a superstition that if someone sweep your feet with a broom you won't get marry. My friends and even I did it, and I ended getting married at 20 (I'm 21), something that I never thought I will do as such an early age.

I knew a girl who would always cut one end off her sausage and leave it on her plate. Just one end. Not both of them. Never found out what that was about.
