I'm assuming your question is a general inquiry about Poker Runs. I can tell you some generalities about them.

Poker Runs are used to generate income for some event or charity.

People who participate in poker runs usually pay a fee from $5 to $20 per "Hand" to participate.

The "Hand" is usually based upon the game of 5 card poker. The participants ride their motorcycles from stop to stop collecting up to five cards trying to build the best winning hand of the game.

At the end of the route, which may be anywhere from a few miles to a hundred miles long the "Hands" are collected and compared by a judge who declares the winner. The winner may collect either money or some thing of value for winning.

As these events have been declared gambling in many states, they are technically illegal, so many event planners have changed their rules to make it more of a lottery thus circumventing the law and allowing the winner to claim a prize.

Normally the money collected is donated to some charitable event or agency, or directly to a family recently stricken by some tragedy. Rarely do the organizers keep the money for themselves.
