Please vote. I need the points.

If you will not pay the price increase because the wire was smaller than the one you bought before, then you must say, "Because you shortened the wire;" however, if the wire does not work, because there is a "short" or malfunction in the wire, then you must say, "Because you shorted the wire." A shorted wire is very dangerous. A shortened wire, means you were "short-changed" and that is not good business practice.

proper would be " I won't pay the price increase because you caused a short in the wiring"

Im not sure but i think its shortened.I guess either one would work tho.
