Your body usually skips around for the first two years. I first started my period in December and didn't get it again until March. My doctor told me I had nothing to worry about. Now I sometimes get a little early or a little late.

No, I've never missed a period but when I started having medical problems (although wasn't sure which ones) I did start to notice that my periods were starting to become irregular. I was later diagnosed with a hormone imbalance called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.
Sometimes a period can come one day late because the cycle can sometimes can change from month to month. I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.

I grew up without regular periods-- I would skip months all the time, sometimes several in a row. After I got married, I became regular, for the most part. Weird, huh? I'd still randomly skip months, though.
Missing periods doesn't have to be because of stress; I've missed them because of intercourse (I've never had children, so the pregnancy option was never the right explanation.)
So, don't fret over it. it'll be back, soon enough! :)
