Hitler was a very conservative capitalist who hated socialism!
Why those that offend people, it's true. I'm not saying being conservative is bad, look at Winston Churchill one of the greatest men in history was a conservative. Hitler just happened to conservative, but he was to conservative to the point of making a fascist regime!
Why do people think Hitler was a socialist? Look up your history books people!!!

As Hitler himself wrote:
"The main plank in the Nationalist Socialist program is to abolish the liberalistic concept of the individual and the Marxist concept of humanity and to substitute for them the folk community, rooted in the soil and bound together by the bond of its common blood."
This is the politics of the 'National Socialist' party of germany.
Individualism over collectivism.
Racism or racial segregation over racial tolerance.
Eugenics over freedom of reproduction.
Merit over equality.
Competition over cooperation.
Power politics and militarism over pacifism.
One-person rule or self-rule over democracy.
Capitalism over Marxism.
Realism over idealism.
Nationalism over internationalism.
Exclusiveness over inclusiveness.
Meat-eating over vegetarianism.
Gun ownership over gun control
Common sense over theory or science.
Pragmatism over principle.
Religion over secularism.
It was not a socialist party!

Some people may be confused because the full name of the Nazi Party was the National Socialist Party ("Nazi" is short for National, similar to "Dems" for Democrats); however, those who actually know that tidbit probably know that Nazism was a hard-right, ::cough:: nationalist movement.
Nazism and fascism are the strongest forms of conservatism. The Nazis gained much of their power by talking about how evil Communists and Jews were, and how awesome Germans were.
People just assume that SOCIALIST IZ BAAAAAD OMGZ!!!!111!1!, and since Hitler was bad, Hitler must be a Socialist. And even without the deeply flawed logic there, they probably can't actually critique socialism, especially in a democratic setting.

He was FAR from a Capitalist. That supposes open markets and he Nationalized industry.
Facism is not Capitalism. I ask you to look up your History books, and show one thing that Hitler did that fits into a Capitalist or Conservative agenda.
FDR emulated many of Hitler and Stalin's actions.
1. Prison Camps on the West Coast for American Citizens.
2. Control and Cersorship of Radio and Press.
3. Serving 4 terms.
4. All Manufacturing geared toward Military.
5. Imprisoning Pollitical Opponents (American Communist Party).
6. Government Work Camps. TVA and others, ect...
Very similar to Hitler, and I don't think FDR would ever be described as a Conservative or a Capitalist.
He is called the "Father of Modern Liberalism". And he was described by the head of the American Socialist Party Head, Michael Harrington, as the "Last True Liberal in America".....

You're knowledge of history is wrong, unfortunately. Fascism and communism are sisters, not conflicting ideologies. Both believe in big government in all aspects of people's lives. The only key difference is that fascists believe in controlling the private sector while communists believe in owning it. Hitler and Stalin saw each other as brothers in arms until Stalin became threatened with the way people were flocking to fascism over communism. It was Stalin who invented the false dichomety between the two as a way to try and stop communists from becoming fascists. And liberals (who Stalin called "useful idiots") swallowed the whole thing.

Would think fascist would be closer
Fascism:: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

Exactly, Hitler was not a socialist, his ideology was the National Socialism (Nazism) and people confuses it with Socialism because both ideologies are totalitarian (tyrannical), but he indeed hated socialism.....
PLUS, at the beginning many right-wing (capitalist) politicians agreed and welcomed Hitler's ideas out of an intense despise towards communism, they thought Nazism was going to be the way through the eradication of the rising communist field in Eastern Europe.
ANd yes, socialism is the wrong way but the fact that Hitler hated it doesnt imply that what he ever did was good, Hitler hated everybody, he was just a maniac and a murderer, his actions should never be referred to as positive, in any sense.....He and his ideologies turned out to be worse than the socialists'

You are misled, The Nazi Party was the National Socialist Party. All socialist governments are by nature totalitarian because they must control the means of production so that it can serve the nation as the government chooses. Fascism is a natural outgrowth of socialism.

Hitler spoke out against marxism and communism many more times then he spoke out against capitalism.
He banned the left-wing Social Democrat and Communist Parties and allied himself with the right-wing Nationalist and Catholic Centre parties.
He joined the side of the fascists in Spain instead of the side of the left-wing Republic, the side socialists and communists were fighting for.
He was very patriotic, racist, sexist, xenophobic, militant, and homophobic and yet cons think he was a pro-diversity liberal.
All this doesn't matter. Cons think well the word socialist is in their name. That means they are left-wing socialists.

He was definitely a socialist.
Here is a link you might find interesting.
http://www.crossroad.to/text/articles/tnmfobe1196.html
Here is a quote from the article.
"Politically correct standards for right and wrong: "Munich
professors [were warned]: 'From now on it is not up to you to decide whether or not something is true, but whether it is in the interest of the national Socialist Revolution." (446)"
Sounds like socialism/communism to me. The opposite of conservatives.

Hitler was a genius who crossed that fine line into madness. Regardless of whether or not he was a capitalist or a socialist, the man was mad and power hungry. :)
