Marriage should be between one man and one woman!
I do not care what you do, or who you do it with (assuming consenting adults) but I do object to the idea that we need to change a long standing institution because some people do not meet the requirements!
Not all people are perfect. We all make mistakes! The issue is between the partners, and only the partners involved!!

I think this isn't a real question, more like a political rant.
But for the sake of argument, let's say we do declare marriage illegal.
Now we have to round up all those new 'criminals' and put them in prison.
Too bad for their kids, who will now no longer be raised by mothers and fathers in a stable environment. Long term effects on society will be devastating of course.
Also with all those 'criminals' in jail there goes the economy, shortly followed by the collapse of government and all social order.
Anarchy reigns supreme and any survivors find themselves smack dab in the middle of a new dark age. Might becomes right and petty tyrants rule, probably using extreme ideologies to enforce their will. Of course there is a backlash against the gay community, in fact like those accused of witchcraft members of the gay community are probably publicly executed in horrible ways.
Wow, brilliant idea. But hey, anything to support political correctness.
I don't know how I feel about gay marriages but it's questions and rants like this one that make me think that maybe I should be opposed to gay marriage.

Its a common mistake for those who judge to say since tragedy occurs in straight marriages then eliminate such a practice, however, its not the institution of marriage that creates tragedy, its people who create such hanos crimes, and those should be dealt with inidvidually. Gay partners simply don't qualify for marriage status by definition, not to mention there is just as many hanous crimes committed by Gays as there are straight persons...people will be people...regardless of sexual orientation...we need not view persons differently but judge them equally.

I think you are wacked in the head.
This stuff can happen in Gay marriages, Strait marriages, Unmarried Couples , Pimps and Ho's, Etc.
These heinous crimes are something that happens because some idiot decides to commit a crime.
Most of the time it is men -- does that mean we should just kill all the men?

I am a very open minded and not a judgemental person at all but, it's unfortunate that this is how the laws civil or bibical are....My cousin is gay and I respect him very much but, this is how life is...You can't go around making rules and changing laws just because what you think is not fair should be over turn...Theres alot of things, I wish I can change but, thats not how life is...In the bible, it says what god expects us how to live and if you don't agree with it then thats simply up to you...but, why expect to change state laws just because you don't agree...Everything on earth is inperfect, from humans to animals, to the judical system but, all you can try to do is live YOUR life to the best of your ability and comfort, no one else's.....

I think straight couples should have as hard a time getting married as gay couples. It's only fair.
People would still kill their partners if they were married or not. So that part of your argument holds no merit.
There's absolutely no problem with gay people getting marriage other than the fact that straight people thinks its disgusting and unnatural. Straight folks use the excuse that gay marriage destroys the idea o marriage. But its the straight people who are allowed to marry, cheat on their spouse, kill their spouse, divorce their spouse. etc. Who exactly is ruining it?
And I'm straight.
Jon S. your comment is stupid. Throw them in jail? Why not just do what they did with gay married couples and make their marriages invalid. Then no one will go to jail and those kids will continue to be raised by their parents.
Seriously I doubt the world would come to and end if people couldnt get married. But you should be allowed to if want. Regardless or age, race or sexual orientation.

Why do you equate the Christian bible with "traditional family values"? Not everyone in this country is a Christian however that doesn't mean they don't have family values. Religion only enters into a marriage if the couple getting married CHOSE it to. Marrige itself is a civil union, always has been it was a civil union for hundreds of years prior to Christianity.

Live and let live. I have many gay friends. But marriage is marriage. And that's between a man and a woman. Your argument holds no water.
