Brake squeal is usualy the fronts. You've got disc brakes in front and depending on the model maybe in back too but probably drums in back. Don't fool around, get to a shop and bite the bullet. The fronts will run you about $225 for a reline and rotor replace. Less if you get there before the rotors get destroyed. The rears will be another $175. Big money but your life is worth more.

Usually yer local mechanic is the cheapest. It usually runs about 40 foir the front and 50 for the back at the shop. Plus turning the rotors ...thats not a bad price, but you can do it yer self for soooo much cheaper. You still have to take the rotors off and take them to get them turned but most places only charge a bout 20 bucks per.

a small garage will be cheaper than a place like midas or pep boys. I'd say about 100 to 130 would be a fair price

You can find cheaper elsewhere but 180$ is better than my moron neighbor who is paying 850$.

If it's a newer American car, if it's a job that you can't do yourself, and if it's something that must absolutely be done, anything under $500 parts and labor is really reasonable.
