Mathematical truth is discovered, like any other truth.

What is invented is Mathematical theory, which is part of a method of finding truth.

Both they can be invented and they are discovered for example 1+1=2 is a mathematical truth that cannot be denied in any sense and it is a mathematical truth similarly the use of zero in math was discovered because it was necessary to use zero to do any kind of higher math or a better example is the invention of calculus by Newton which was a pure invention he wrote the rules of calculus which are mathematical truths. In a broader sense however inventing and discovering are two different ways of advancing the knowledge of humanity about our world like inventing calculus to advance math or Columbus "discovering" America.

Humans explore the world with their senses. We observe patterns and cycles and systems and other phenomenon. One way to record what we observe is to write words about it. For example, using words, if you fold a circle in half, the crease we can name the "diameter". If we cut a string the same size of the diameter, it would take three and a little piece more of those strings to go all the way around the outer edge of the circle. That "three and and a little piece more" truth about circles is true for all circles of any size anywhere in the Universe.

Math is just another kind of language. We can use numbers and math symbols to describe the same phenomenon of diameter (d) relationship with circumference (c). The outer edge of a circle is called a circumference. "Three and a little piece more" is called pi (I don't have that symbol on my laptop). So, pi = c / d.

Science and the language of math are the human "inventions", the tools we made to objectively observe, study and report natural phenomenon. When we find a consistent pattern or cycle or phenomenon like pi, that is a "discovery".

Humans do invent theories to describe the discovery to other humans. The thing they are describing has always been there so it exists whether a man discovers it or not.

I think that science discovers truth. Truth itself can not be invented.

lol it somewhat is definitely humorous! i became taking a adolescence progression type in college years in the past, and between the flaws it particularly mentions is to "by no skill tell the toddler 'wait till your father/mom gets abode." whilst the instructor asked us if it ever exceeded off in our residences, the female next to me pronounced her mom have been doing it for years, yet her dad hasn't come abode yet. we don't do this in the process our abode however. My son thinks the two me and Mr Dawna are the two evil.
