This is a part-time job. Do they usually ask for a registration fee and a social security number/ID?

I did some extra work in LA and just about all the Extras casting agencies asked for a small registration fee. It's basically just a paperwork fee and you should only have to pay it once. If you're in LA check out Central Casting they are one of the biggest agencies and I got almost all my extra work through them.

Yes, they need you SS# because they will be paying you, you'll also have to fill out all the tax forms you normally fill out for a new job. They may also ask for your driver's license but so do most employers.

If you do this on a regular basis it will hardly be a part time job. Extras usually have to be on set early for hair and make up and stay until the entire scene is done, which can take all day and all night.

You probably will be asked your SS in order for you to be paid. Don't give out your SS until you're cast.

Some companies ask for a registration fee, which is totally wrong - because they should take a cut of your check. open calls for extras usually don't ask for a fee.

Good Luck

If you want to get paid they need your SS number.

In NYC there is no fee to work as an extra and you get paid the same day.
