if you use drugs, drink etc it is bad for the baby and some stds then you cant but otherwise it is almost always best just sometimes you need to cut out milk, wheat eggs or other allergens. Also, sometimes(very rare) your milk wont come in, drink mothers milk(it is a tea in the healthy section of the store) and pump, it will hurt you may not get anything for weeks but it will eventually come in just work at it and eat and drink lots, adoptive moms sometimes do this to induce milk to come in, and (not cool in my opinion but whatever floats your boat) some men do pump to get milk to come in too and it is possible they do have mammary glands.

the only time breast milk would not be good for baby is if you were drinking, doing drugs etc and passing all that on to the baby through breast milk. Every mother, unless she has a congenital deformity of the breasts, can breastfeed to a certain degree.

Breastmilk is always the best thing for your baby but I have read that it is possible that your milk will not come in after birth.

It is possible not to produce breast milk, however you should see your doctor relating this problem...only because he will be able to test to see if it is milk or not.
However if it is not then you can easily switch to formula, they are getting better with making formula closer to breastmilk every day.

Breastmilk is best for baby. You can't not have ANY breastmilk, but you can not have enough to supply it to your baby. That was my case w/ my 1st, so I just pumped & mixed it in w/ his formula.
