You should go to the doctor and be checked for a urinary tract infection. They are common during pregnancy.

Goodness, the words "should be" need to be totally erased from the pregnant woman's dictionary!
Reason being, there are all sorts of things that can cause you to need to pee more.
These are that the baby is in an awkward position and is giving your bladder a good bash, or that you just need to pee more.
Every pregnancy, though the same in its result (ie a beautiful little baby!) is different for the symptoms we have throughout its course.
I've had urinary frequency come and go throughout my entire pregnancy (I'm now 34 weeks) and everything is fine.
All you really need to remember to do is drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated, and eat small amounts often to avoid problems with heartburn, etc.
Needing to pee lots though and dashing off to the "throne room" every 10 minutes though is more of annoyance than a danger.
Also, constipation AND diarrheoa are both also very common in pregnancy, so if at any time you suffer from either of these for a few days at a time, or it comes and goes, don't worry so much about that either. It's all part and parcel of being pregnant.

Hi, im not sure (or qualified~) to state about the position but if it rests your mind at all, I have needed to use the loo from more or less the first month that I was pregnant. It has goten worse as I am 34 weeks and 5 days, but I have been quite consistent. I would ask the doc or midwife will may be able to tell you what position your child is in as well as if this makes any impact on the amount you use the loo. Good luck and congrats!

It could be the baby's position but at 28 weeks you will be checked for Gestational diabetes....and this can cause excessive urination...I should know as thats exactly what happened to me and I was about 22 weeks, like you, wondering what at that stage when we are supposed to get a bit of a break from needing the loo a lot, I was constantly on the loo!! Talk to your midwife, she'll ask you some questions such as family history of Diabetes etc. Im not saying you have it, but its one explanation!! Goodluck x

Ah yes.... I remember those days well. (Thank GOD my "baby" is 6 years old now. lol)
It all depends on the baby's position. Sometimes it feels like he/she is actually STANDING on the bladder, even though you know they can't do that yet. The worst part of that is sitting in rush-hour traffic with no bathroom in sight, and you have to pee RIGHT NOW, DANG IT.
It will get better once the baby shifts position. Just when you get used to "normal" potty breaks, the kid will shift again, and you'll feel like you live in the blasted bathroom.
Baby books are fine, just don't read too far ahead, or you'll scare yourself silly. The likelihood of you getting the diseases or having the problems described in the chapters beyond where you are, are very slim.
Once you have this kid, you'll want to burn the book. You'll already have a handle on it when the next one comes along. :-)

The position the baby is in is on your bladder. The uterus is tilted and over the bladder. So little johnny or janey is jumping up and down and using your bladder like a trampoline. Bathroom use will increase as the baby grows, hate to tell you. Poise pads work good for those later months i hear!

Yes, if your baby is pusing down on your bladder, then that could have a lot to do with how often you go to the bathroom. Could mean you are having a boy, because boys tend to be lower down (belly drops down low). When I was pregnant, I went to the bathroom anywhere between 6-18 times a night, literally. You are fine.

I think wanting to go to the toilet gets worse as the pregnancy progresses! Not as much room in there and the baby sits on your bladder.

No matter what, you pee more while your pregnant than when you're not, no matter how far along. I was still peeing a lot at 22 wks too, it wasn't until a couple-few wks later that the peeing started to slow down. And if the baby is sitting low or pushing on your bladder, than you'll have to go more too.

Uh around that time I found an increase starting to happen and that I could no longer sleep through the night without getting up to pee. Keep in mind that depending on where the baby is lying depends on the amount of pressure on your bladder.Good luck.
