You can do it, but there are a bunch of differences between the motors. The turbo II has a totally different exhaust system. The ECU ( the brain ) is different. The intake is different. Different hood (inter cooler). Higher flow injectors. Different Air flow meter. Car even has different suspension pieces. Might be cheaper to sell your car and buy a turbo II.

Be sure to check the exhaust manifold on the turbo. Mazda had problems with the manifold cracking when car was around 90,000 miles. Also had a recall on some of the ECUs

Yes, a turbo can be installed on anything.
However, there maybe special work involved. Multiport fuel injected cars are some of the easiest. The hardest part will be plumbing. Exhaust, oil lines, waterlines, intakes and inter cooler.
The surest solution is to buy a kit that is made to fit, Rather then trying to make sure that all the parts are there from a used unit.

Yes you will need the intercooler and lines any oil lines and the exhaust manifold from the TII I dont think you need the intake manifold. You'll need the ECU the injectors, injector rail, and the fuel pump. There are probably a few other random items you need but, this is done ALL the time.
