There are dozens. If you're looking for history of the ***** Leagues, there is none better than "Only The Ball Was White" by Robert Peterson. For women's baseball (presumably to include the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League), I'm sorry to say I don't know if any specific books. Beyond that, good baseball books include:

- any collection of Roger Angell's commentaries
- some of the better autobiographies include Satchel Paige's "Maybe I'll Pitch Forever", Bill Lee's "The Wrong Stuff" and Jim Bouton's "Ball Four"
- The Bill James Historical Baseball Abstract, if you're a bit of a stats geek
- For some of the lower levels of the game, Neil Conan's "Play By Play" and "The Last Best League" by Jim Collins (both published in the last few years) are both excellent reads

I feel one of the best is "The Encyclopedia of the ***** Baseball Leagues" by James Riley.

Hank Aaron's "If I had a Hammer". A startling narrative of a career that spanned a time of change in baseball and in the country.
