Yes let them have their Mosque but only if we can build churches in Saudi Arabia the land of the 2 holy mosques and that ain't gonna happen any time soon. In fact to practise any other religion than Islam in Saudi will get you into a lot of trouble. What's good for them should be good for us.

IT IS NOT GOING TO BE PAID FOR BY TAX PAYERS MONEY SO STOP WITH THE BNP PROPOGANDA !!!
Here is the statement by the Mayor of London :
http://www.london.gov.uk/mayor/statement_170707.jsp
EXCERPT:
'The Mayor wishes to make it absolutely clear that these reports are entirely untrue. There are not now, and have never been, any plans by the Mayor or Greater London Authority spend any public money on such mosque. Indeed, it would be illegal for the Mayor of London to do so. Suggestions of a link between plans for a mosque and the 2012 Olympic Games are equally untrue, as are suggestions of the enormous size of any planned mosque.
'Equally, there is no current planning permission or application for a mosque and Newham Council do not expect a planning application in the near future'
So just give it up and stop spamming us with the same thing that has been on here dozens of times.
The fact is there ARE NO PLANS, and even if there were, it would be illegal for the London authorities to pay towards it.
IT IS NOT GOING TO BE FUNDED BY THE TAXPAYERS!!!
Happy to set you straight about that!
Philip

the petition site has hundreds (if not thousands) of petitions. The government doesn't care, they just think it is a way to keep the public happy by pretending to engage and listen to the electorate.
As for the Mosque, it isn't going to be paid by tax payers money. That is just BNP propaganda

London mosque. No, I do not agree, and because I do NOT agree, I object to being called a Nazi! Neither am I a BNP supporter. The backers for this "monstrosity" are the Tablighi Jamaat. Anti-terrorism officials have called them a recruiting ground for al-Qa'eda, and the French secret services described it as "an antechamber for fundamentalism". Its current European headquarters are in Dewsbury, home town of Mohammed Siddique Khan, leader of the July 7 suicide bombers, who attended the local mosque. Need I say more!!

You have got it wrong that's not a mosque it's the new Olympic stadium....only joking....if we all sign the petition and the mosque is turned down then it will lead to great anger in the Muslim community and we all know where that will lead

I think it's a pile of propaganda and lies. If there was to be a mosque built it would be funded by those going there and not by taxpayers money.
Stop rehashing old news.

Taxpayers are to fund this yet Londoners are to be forced to pay a levy on their council tax bill to pay for the Olympics. Something wrong somewhere I think. Did you know that just a couple of hundred yards away they have pulled down the biggest Christian Church in Europe, what's the hidden agenda here.
