October and early November.. BEFORE thanksgiving. The old days where Disney was dead during the winter are gone.. now even in the slow season it is too busy for my tastes.

I go every year alternating late october with early november (and getting a annual pass and getting 2 2week trips off a single pass)...

With the food & wine festival in Epcot, and October being a big convention month (plus school being in session), not only is there less people down there, but a higher proportion of them are adults. And if you stay in the park, I've found a hotel like Coronado Springs (their only 'moderate' hotel that has convention facilities) has an even less ratio of kiddies then the parks or other hotels (2 years ago the person in the room next to mine left their room with a badge on, so those there for business spend a good portion of their time not in the parks).

And there are things you outside the parks if even the off-season crowds wear on you a little. When I park hop from Epcot & MGM, I like to skip the bus & boat and walk (it takes 22 minutes nonstop if you take a shortcut by the Boardwalk pool, or you can take your time and check out the hotels & the art gallery at the Boardwalk). Sit down meals are also good (I believe lunch in Morocco at Marrakesh is mandatory, the much less people in there for lunch is so much better for the ambience and enjoying the show in there). If you take a deliberately slower pace at the animal trails in Animal Kingdom there is much less people (and if you see the hippos around closing time they are much more active). And there are the animals at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, pair a viewing of those with a dinner at Boma (an excellent African buffet).

It's hard to predict, but I have been there once for the past 12 months and the month that I find was the bext was in October, late October, plus the heat is gone. I also found it was not very busy the 1st week of December. I find it's busy from late Jan pretty much all throughout the summer. The second week of Jan is not too bad. The epress passes they hand out at each rides are a must!

The cheapest time to fly and therefore visit attractions in Florida is In September, from about the 2nd week onwards up to just before halloween.
You will find the attractions start offering deals like extra days free or half price tickets as there school holidays have finished and they need to keep us customers coming through the gates.
It's also better to contact ticket companies 'outside' of the US and see what deals you can get on admission prices.
