I would have to say D. I'm not exactly sure about insect's sensory organs but that would mean they could detect danger more easily and get away. Wings help them move from place to place and avoid land-based predators. High reproductive rates give them higher chances of producing offspring and small body size lets them avoid larger predators in some situations and also makes them harder to detect if a predator is looking for them as food. And there's plenty of predators in the water as well from fish to frogs and other water-based organisms.

D. Insects are pretty much terrestrial for the most part. Mosquitos and a few others depend on the water as part of their development. All the rest seem within reason.
