Why do people get upset when you reply like this when they offer you stuff you don't want? Would you consider this to be nagging or is it just restating that I don't want something?

i am assuming that you are talking about telemarketers???

if you are, the best thing to do is to put them on hold...forever or at least until they hang up! also, companies that constantly send you junk mail, open it and put all of their crap inside the complimentary envelope, on which the postage is charged to their company when mailed, and send it back to them...it has worked wonders for me.

if this is not what your questions was in reference to, do this stuff anyway! lol

Well it's not nagging, it's just persistence by some people being nice to you and trying to stuff food down your throat when you are full it's like that old cliche, never take no for a answer.

I agree. If someone works in an industry where they are pushing their product/service on anyone and everyone - they should understand that No means NO!
I was actually told once by some lady in a mall that "No thank you" is alot "nicer". I wanted to punch her! I didn't ask to be pounced on just for walking by!

My parents nag nag nag! I either get grounded, or dragged where they want me to go. It's not nagging when you stress that you don't want something. People just need to listen more. It annoys me

I think that if someone(such as over the phone sellers)are being rude to you and keep offering you the same thing over and over again sure you can say that to them OR even better hang up.But,If its publicly( a restaraunt) you can find better ways to say the same phrase but less rude or speak to a manger or something...

I cant say I have too many people get upset with me when I say no thanks. But once a persistent hair styling tool salesman in the mall starting snapping his fingers at me after I said no thanks, like he didnt hear me or something and really wanted to sell me the damn hair straightener.
I think no thanks is a nice, polite way to decline something you don't want

Because some people are retrarded and their minds function backwards, so no = yes to them.. wait, come to think of it... my ex wife must have been a retrard. Yep, sure was!

Some people are just too damn clueless. It takes a nasty response for them to get it.

They're lucky you don't punch them in the nose. I wish people would back off.
