Hmm. I thought I heard a CNN reporter on here. Anyone seen him? {Smile}
If you think Democrats are really staying to get an important bill like the Defense Authorization bill passed so that our troops can be adequately funded, then you haven't a clue. Get out your reading glasses and see that our dear Senator Kennedy had attached the Hate-Crimes Bill (so that homosexuals can have civil rights- what a slap in the face to african americans) as an amendment to the Defense Authorization Bill.
You know Democrats could care less about our troops when they pull a stunt like this!

You are so right!
We should all "support the troops".
So when their tours of duty are up we should say "I know you want to go home and not have people trying to kill you, but we support you so much that we are going to force you to stay. But don't worry. When you get blown all to hell, we will send someone to replace you and then we will support him until he's dead too. In fact, we have so much support in our hearts that we will send an endless string of troops to be killed and we won't even give it a second thought, but then again we seldom give anything a first thought let alone a second. Because we let George Bush do all our thinking for us cause he's the bestest president ever".

It's in support of our TROOPS. Bush has FAILED our troops. He will NOT change course in Iraq. The "strategy" currently being employed by the US Military under the command of George W. Bush is FAILING. We need a new direction and a plan to hand over power to the Iraqi people. The Iraqi Prime Minister recently said that the Americans can leave any time they wish and that the Iraqi military and people are ready to take over the government. This overnight filibuster is to make sure as many of our troops come home ALIVE as possible. It's DEMANDING a dialogue and that Bush change course in Iraq for the sake of our soldiers and for the Iraqi people. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! BRING THEM HOME!

I think they want to support the troops, but they don´t have the long range vision about what an unconditional pull out will mean.
For so long we have come accustomed to our freedoms. What I think a lot of these politicos don´t get is that they are projecting our demise and showing the insurgents the formula to their victory whenever they show the world the political dissent inside this country.
These people who have only known dictators don´t understand that debate and only see a weak President who's opposition will go to any lengths to embarrass him.
I think they genuinely feel they are doing what is right. They are simply not worldly enough to see their own idiocy.
Best Regards.

The democrats in congress are doing one of the few things they can to try to sway some votes to their side. It also sends the message to their base, we're trying to do what you elected us to do. Anyone who knows anything about politics knows the democrats don't have the votes to do anything on their own and anything that may get passed isn't going to stand up to a Presidential veto, not yet.

This isn't even a question; it's a totally baseless accusation that's lost whatever context it might have once had when it was first spewed out by some right-wing pundit. Your desperation is showing.
