Leave now, the situation is beyond hope, and we are destroying our economy trying to fix a nation that is likely to end up our enemy. It was a mistake, and we should cut our loses and leave now. We should use to money to employ scientists to develop an alternative to foreign oil.

I would reduce troops once the Iraqis can start to take on the security efforts themselves. Can they do it all now? No. But they are getting there as the sheiks and tribal leaders start to step up and send their troops in to get trained. This is working but it's slow work to build militias.
We need to stay there because as I've pointed out before, we blew up the apple cart. I don't like Bush and it pains me to think that I'm in agreement on this but realize this: When we toppled Saddam, we created a vacuum. We can't just wave, yell "My bad" and walk away. As Colin Powell put it, "We broke it. We bought it." So we have to stay there until it's at least halfway fixed. That can happen in the next year or two, realistically.
I would support a phased redeployment to the borders to stop the flow of insurgents into Iraq and let the government try to get control themselves

Iraq is about oil and money. The no bid contracts can not be done and billed without security in Iraq. Security is better in Baghdad now with 130,000 American troops but the killing has moved to other parts of Iraq. Until the Iraqi people want peace there will be none. Iraq is in Civil war now, it will only get worse. Bush, Cheney and Republicans will never admit being wrong about the Iraqi people.

I guess either when its clear the bulk of the insurgents are ran out of Iraq or when the Iraqi government says they have it under enough control that the USA can withdraw.
If after they had deposed Saddam if the USA would have secured the border ( noticed the USA has a problemw ith securing borders here and there ) and would have blocked or prevented insurgents coming in in the first place this situation would have been alot easier to deal with.

I find the new idea that's being kicked around about our future in Iraq to be very appealing. We keep a security force on a few bases in the country, allowing the Iraqi police and military to police their own country. Our forces would be nothing more than a 'trip wire', as they are in South Korea. We stay out of the sectarian violence, but our presence can insure that Iraq doesn't become another radical theocracy, as well as have a forward base against terror and in case Iran starts getting twitchy.

I am a Republican, and I would pull all the troops out of Iraq, and send then to Afghanistan to concentrate on getting bin Ladin. Even go into Pakistan if necessary to get him. I have always suspected he is in Saudi Arabia. But people say the Saudis are our allies. Then why in the heck are 50% of the insurgents in Iraq come from Saudi Arabia? I still think Bin Ladin is there. GO GET HIM !!!!!

I would pull out of Iraq when we have the insurgents gone and we are performing more training than we are fighting because we have the time. I think we should have a presence in Iraq for years to come to ensure the peace remains.

I'm a conservative and I think that we should pull out now. The reason I feel this way is because I have a daughter who is involved in this war and it's a war that being fought over religion. How can you win a war that is about religion

I would not have invaded to begin with.
We had already made repeated inspections at found nothing.
We knew the nation was virtually unarmed before we invaded.
That is one of many tragedies here. How do we expect the next nation in which we demand weapons inspections to respond? If you had just seen someone else lay down their gun and then be killed by the police, would you lay down your gun?

If I were in charge, I would give the Iraqi government a certain amount of time to get ther crap together and get on their own two feet.
Off the top of my head, I couldnt give you a timeline.
