Personally, I just tell them I am not interested and that I should be taken off of their phone list and for them to not call me anymore. I then hang up and do not listen to a word they say. If you listen then they will take advantage of that.

A friend of mine has some sort of device on his phone. It plays the most awful puking noises you have ever heard. If you sit there and listen for a few seconds you want to go and throw up. The device allows the caller to hear it but not my friend. Whenever, he gets someone like a telemarketor, he flips on the device and starts talking to them. He will act like he has no idea what noise they are talking about and will just toy with them. He will see just how long they can listen to the noises. From what I hear, they get pretty angry at him.

The Do Not Call registry is useless. It hasn't cut down on the amount of worthless telemarketing calls I get. Now I must screen my calls. If I do pick up the phone, I have to hang up because they'll never quit talking. It's sad that they have such low self esteem that they can't get real jobs.

I'm usually polite and just tell them i'm not interested, but once i got kinda mean... the guy was insisting that i listen but i was seriously busy, so i got mad and politely asked if i could have his number, and he kinda was quiet for a few seconds, then he's like sorry, i cannot give my personal phone number to random people, and i'm like, so u don't want me to call you in the afternoon while you're eating lunch and ask you tons of questions?, and he's like 'no, ma'am, we're not allowed to do that', then i'm like , 'ok, that's how i feel about you calling me, kthnks, bye!';

Usually I can tell when it's a solicitor by the silent pause so I just hang up before they come on the line.

I like to place the phone down and let them say there whole script. If ya hang up the they just move on but sometimes they talk for two minutes straight. It is a riot when you hear the yelling, Hello, hello, click.

Hehe - depends on the solicitor. If I try to interrupt them and they won't listen, then I just lay the phone down and walk away. Of course, if they are nice I won't do that!

I'm sorry my number is on the DO NOT CALL LIST.

This is a bad time... OR I was just on my way out I'm running late for an important appointment... will you please call me back... NEVER... hehe

Sorry we're haing dinner... Will you please give me your number so I may return your call while you're having dinner... what would be a good time... LOL

I hope you understand but I'm trying to make babies with my hubby during his lunch hour and you keep calling. If you stop I promise to name our first born after you... haha

I am polite and some even tell me "thank you" for being courteous. I listen to them and if I don't want whatever they are selling or asking for I just say "No, thank you." I don't hang up on any of them.

I let them get through their whole script or sales pitch and then critique them on it. Ive actually had telemarketers call me back and thank me because what i told them to start doing doubled and even tripled their paychecks.
