Your lap top should be under warranty, take it in and have checked. Sounds like hard drive went bad, if no warranty install new hard drive and reinstall OS from recovery C/D.
I installed a new hard drive on my 5 yr. old Toshiba and reinstalled OS from recovery C/D, it now works like a new one.
Hope this helps

If it's less than 12 months old it should be under warranty. Call the people you bought it from.

if the pc doesnt detect a harddrive then i dont think it can load an OS. you may have had a harddrive failure or you lost the driver or whatever thats the point i take it in but yeah it can be fixed
