The Iraq occupation will cost tax payers $2 trillion over ten years. WE also have a $9 trillion debt all ran up by Busj and Republicans. The number one problem in this country now is lack of affordable Health Insurance. We spend $498 billion on Defense and that's plus the Iraq and Afghanistan spending.
We are about to send $9 billion over seven years to Pakistan.

Boosted education, not only financial aid, but the technology to provide it.

Moved the entire country of Isreal onto a 20 mile wide strip on the Amerian-Mexico border to solve many of our ME problems, along with allow them to provide border security.

Pump the rest into alternate fuel research. Terrorists won't have as much funding once oil is worthless.

Take the money saved on immigration control, and fighting terror, and spent it on a feasible realistic universal healthcare system that isn't going to become more of a burden.

Health, Education, rebuilding our own infrastructure, research and development in our universities around the country into clean renewable technologies and energies so we can get off our oil habit entirely, environmental clean ups, new parks, secure our borders, a WPA workers program to train and employ our nations unemployed and welfare workers (it would be much better than welfare as we know it) and a peace dividend for the American people. WOW, what a country this could be. We'd have bragging rights for sure. I would have also put more into the efforts in Afghanistan where all our 'war energy' should have stayed.

FIRST and foremost, this country's self defenses should have been shored up. With that amount of money, we could inspect EVERY container coming into the country AND made all of our borders secure.
Instead W had us selling our Ports to Arabs. Had public outrage not stopped him, they would own them today!!

If or When another attcak happens in our country, it will be because George W Bush cried Wolf and chased after what he thought would be a paper tiger and ignored REAL HOMELAND SECURITY.

First you have to remember that we don't and didn't have actual money to spend in Iraq. We went further in debt to have this war. We are fighting this war on by going into further debt most of which is owned by China and Japan. The bill will come due eventually.
