If/when US troops leave Iraq, w/o having won the war & the Iraqi Shiites & Kurds (they hate Al Qaeda as much as Americans do) take over & outnumber Al Qaeda/insurgents by at least 10 to 1, how the heck would Al Qaeda turn Iraq into a terror state in which to plan & launch their attacks from?

If US troops left Iraq the Iraqi Shiites & kurds would immediately wipe Al Qaeda off the Iraq map & win the war on terror in Iraq w/o any US help.

So maybe that's why Bush wants to keep US troops in Iraq. It's not to stop the terrrorists (which he hasn't been able to do in 6 years) it's so Iraqi Shiite & Kurd Muslims don't get credit for winning the war on terror in Iraq which would be extremely embarrassing for Bush.

Al Qaeda would get slaughtered by the many factions in this civil war once the US is gone. We've already seen it happen on a smaller scale with local sheiks fighting these people.

A more likely happening would be a fracturing of the Iraqi state along ethnic lines into autonomous regions.
That means that Turkey would probably invade the Kurdish territories to discourage their own Kurdish population from demanding creation of their own homeland.

Just keeps spiralling out of control.

Get real. You almost thought this through though. What about the neighboring state called IRAN. Do you think they will just lie down? They will not let the Kurds or the Shi'a have control of Iraq. Good try though. Most of the Shi'a in Iraq are former members of the Baath party. Remember they don't like the Kurds. Lets not forget Turkey also not liking the Kurds and I don't put it past them to come in from the north.

The war in Iraq will be considered a success by Bush, once the new Iraq government passes the "divvy up the oil" law, that he has been pressing them so hard on.
After that he could care less what happens, as long as he can blame it on dems.

Who are the U.S soldiers going to win the war for? It's a civil war. what side are they choosing? The Sunni's are dealing with Al Queda by killing them. If Iraqies want Al Queda out, they will kick them out and deal with them. Bush isn't going to win any war. There are no clear agenda that has been laid out, no clear plan as to why we are there now. There isn't anything that can be defined as to what a 'win' would look like. how is Bush going to win anything if you can't define what it is that you are winning. Not one thing about this war has ever made sense in terms of it's lies perpetuated on the American people that it was about terrorism. It still makes no sense after 4 years.

That could possibly the most ignorant question posted by a lib.

If your assumption is true, then why has this not happened in Pakistan? Or why did not nit happen in Afghanistan? Or Iran (who has a terrorist dictator)? Or better yet, why have Iraqi people not done this already? They need our help.
