I'm 13 now, and I've had the habit of biting my nails since I don't even remember when. How can I stop this? I've tried nail polish and the sally hansen nail growth things.

I've seen in drug stores some products that help you stop nail biting. what is it and if it guarantees that you'll stop, won't it be toxic or dangerous?

Here's what I do. I bite my nails too, but I want to grow them long. I don't know if you wanna grow yours long, but it doesn't matter because this will help.
Go to your local drugstore and buy those false nails that come with the glue and nails.
Put the nails on and they should last for a good week. Your natural nails will start to grow underneath the false nail and when you do feel like biting your nails, you'll probably bite into the false nail.
Just keep reapplying new nails when they start to fall off,
Hope this helped!

Put a really bad tasting nail polish on your finger nails. When you bite your nails you'll taste and stop biting your nails.

the only way I stopped was to carry around a nail file, anytime I got the urge to bite I would file instead, which is easier on the nail. After they grew out a little I would get manicures every week, so they were even and smooth and I would have no reason to mess them up by biting.

Believe me, I've had the same problem on and off. I never used those products. Everytime I felt like biting my nails, I forced myself to remember how disgusting it looked in someone else's perspectives, and you're basically digesting dirt and bacteria. Like you've said, there are also polishes and nail growth items.

No it just tastes nasty when you go to bite your nails. What helped me was getting my nails done by a nail tech. I kept them on for a long time until my own nails were long enough to look good. Then I just took good care of them- make sure you carry a nail file and use it on any catches in your nails they make you want to bite it off!!
