I understand the Pac 10 argument vs. the SEC argument, but if you were take emotions out of it and look at the complete USC team's roster do you really believe USC could not hold their own in the SEC or the BIG 10? Talent wise USC has been one of the top 3 or 4 programs every year for the last 5 seasons, and the last few seasons have shown that they have produced a top 5 recruiting class every year. Am I missing something here? Do you really believe that USC wouldn't be in the top 2 teams of the SEC almost every year, and that they wouldn't make it to a January Bowl game? With teams like Ole MIss, Kentucky, Miss. State, Vanderbuilt, Alabama, do you feel it would be a stretch for USC to win 11 games? They beat Arkansas 2 years in a row.
Do you really believe that if USC had LSU schedule this year that they wouldn't go undefeated? (please don't give me the homer answer or the answer that is all emotion and no fact.)

hey deacon USC is going into NEbraska this year and they did beat ARK. at Ark. and I tend to believe they would have beat Florida last year that loss in a rivalry game kept Florida from getting a beat down.

Most people think USC is overrated because they lost to two unranked teams last year and had to pull out a couple close games aganist another two. I mean they almost lost to Washington. Their big claim to fame last year was beating an overrated Michigan squad that had absolutley no desire to win. Emotion plays a factor in college football more than any other sport. USC had tough games against their conference rivals because game in and game out everyone wanted to beat them.
I don't have any problem with USC being ranked number one, but I am not ready to give them the title just yet. As neither a USC fan or SEC fan, my prediction is that USC would be the cream of the SEC, along with a couple other schools. They would have a tougher time than in the pac ten, but they still would be in the hunt for the title year in and year out.

USC is in the Pac-10. The Pac-10 is less than impressive. If USC wants to be looked at as the all mighty unbeatable team, they need a better out of conference schedule. This year they play Idaho, Nebraska, and Notre Dame. Nebraska is a shell of what they once were, Norte Dame is so overrated and pathetic, and Idaho? Who cares. Play another top ranked team. Alot of teams could run up a huge margin on teams such as Idaho, Washington State and Stanford. I will not deny they have talent, but for God's sake, show us what you can do against another good team! People say that my team, WVU, has an easy schedule. But honestly, does USC have it any worse? Barley if at all.

College football has always been predominantly controlled by the Midwest and southern schools deep rooted in tradition. When a west coast school in any sport, with the exception of baseball becomes a powerhouse, others look to downplay the success. Whether its from the national coverage focusing on the Big 10, Big 12, or SEC and the Pac-10 having a regional FOX coverage or the the failure to accept that an "outsider" has taken over, people have failed to accept that USC has been the most dominant college football team since the "U" in the late 80's.

I understand your point. The argument people have when it comes to the sec verse pac 10 is in the sec every week you have a chance to loose and in the Pac 10 if you have a good team like USC the chances of you loosen week in and week out is slim. Lets take for example my fav team since birth the seminoles. We ran the acc for many years and when we played out of conference we would win, but everyone would say that the acc sucked and their was no competition. Now since the acc has added mia and va tech and programs like clemson have stepped up now the acc gets respect. People do not say that the talent on USC sucke, because that is not the case. The question is raised if other pac 10 teams caught up with usc would usc be so good? I think no. You point out ole miss, alabama, vandy, miss state and kentucky. Yet they will run the table on arizona, wsu, stanford, asu, osu. To be honest take Pac 10 top five teams and match them up against fla, auburn, lsu, tenn, georgia, south carolina, ark. lol there is no comparison.

USC manages to escape playing the "good" SEC teams.. look at their "championships" which they claim a dynasty.. 2003 shared title and they shoulda played LSU.. 2004.. don't get me started.. OU was soooo overrated and that Auburn team would have slaughtered USC.. 2005 got beat by Vince Young.. so.. yea USC is overrated.. quote LSU's schedule all you want.. try out Auburns though.. go on the road at night to Baton Rouge with 96,000 people who hate you and take on a top 5 team.. then the next week.. how about moving it over to Athens to take on Georgia.. or the Swamp in Gainesville.. USC would make a January bowl.. but it wouldn't be the mythical title game

If USC had LSU's schedule, they would have at least 2 if not 3 losses. V Tech, Florida, Auburn, and Alabama would all have legitimate chances to beat them. Why should people bow down and respect USC. They have won (1) National Championship since the inception of the BCS, so has LSU and Florida. LSU's record has been quite similar to USC's over the past 5 years. LSU plays in the SEC (ranked the toughest in the country), USC plays in the PAC 10 (ranked the 5th toughest). What is your point.

People hate on USC because they are jealous and also because of the whole time zone thing. When USC's games are on, they get drunk and wasted without even bothering to watch.
In response to DB, who is number ONE in all the college football magazines out right now? And what are your sources?
Done? I think not... as long as Pete Carroll is around, the USC Trojans can't stop and won't stop.
Would the USC Trojans be done with TEN returning starters on DEFENSE, THREE #1 QBs recruited on the roster (John David Booty, Mark Sanchez, Mitch Mustain), and 4 consecutive top 5 recruiting classes?
An eleven win season after losing Leinart and Bush, I don't think that means done buddy. Ha people said we wouldn't beat Notre Dame last year. USC would be one of the powers of the SEC every year, if it was in that conference. I don't feel like arguing anymore... the 2007 season will speak for itself.

Look I don't like college football so I am not bias in any way, shape, or form but I can tell you that USC is overrated because they're talked about like they're some kind of Godsend yet they don't play like it. Look man, ever since USC lost Leinart and Bush they have fallen apart, just look at last season... they were nowheres near as good as they have been the seasons before. Put a fork in them, sorry to say it but they're done.

I don't feel that USC is overrated, but I don't think that they could go undefeated in the SEC either. UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State, or Cal could upset them this year, but it looks like a good year no matter what for the Trojans. And yes, they are cheaters.
