I was doing a wheelie on my street bike. I looked around and no traffic was on the road besides me and my buddy on his bike. I popped it up and will still up and going past an on-ramp i looked over and no traffic coming up the ramp so i continues to ride it. Finally setting it down i see head lights 5 ft from the back of me and i figured a cop so i pulled over. I was polite with Yes Sir/No Sir and gave him no problems. Now Im facing losing my liscense for 6months and paying $250

Wow even when your polite to them they act like worthless jackasses who think they're better than you. Who are you putting at risk other than yourself by pulling a wheelie? I'll tell you... nobody and I think you have all the right to put yourself at as much risk as you want as long as you don't put anyone else at risk. The best thing to do would probably be to get a lawyer and try to get the charges dropped. But man we need more people to start shooting these worthless traffic cops that'll give them something to really be concerned about so they can acctually earn their pay and stop harrassing innocent people who are just looking to have a little fun.

you don't say what state your in. In some states, like Idaho, you can get a "deferred judgement" one time in you rlife. It means that if you behave for a probationary period, it drops off your record as if it never happened. Now, having said that, I have to say this, you're an idiot. riding a wheelie on a public highway is stupid. Save that junk for dirt bikes or at least not on public roadways. And yes, I'd did the same kind of stuff when I was young, immature and STUPID too.
You might also get yourself a good lawyer and try to plead it down to inattentive, still a major charge, but less than reckless. Don't count on a public defender, they are all but worthless.
If you face a 6 month suspension and only a $250.00 fine, your lucky, in many states it is $500.00, loss of a license for up to a year and MANDATORY jail time.

What worked for me, on my first ticket a long time ago, was to go in the day before your court date and talk to the DA or Assistant DA and you have to be "yes sir/no sir/ma'am with them too, and sort of act like you would with the judge and beg forgiveness/it'll never happen again and so forth and they have the authority to lessen the charges/points. I had mine reduced from 24 over to "imprudent speed". But looking back, the judge may have been able to do the same thing. But it's worth trying. I guess if they say "get bent" you can always go to the court date, so if you have the time to spare you can try the DA.

You can go in front of the Judge and plead your case or get an Attny. to do it for you but..... You'll lose. Like it or not cops are held to a higher standard and are as a rule considered to be "more reliable and truthfull" than the average citizen. If you have no other citations you can throw yourself on the mercy of the court and pray he doesn't through the book at you. BTW, Thats what track days are for.

actually, for a dumb stunt like that, they should have impounded the bike. btw, cops now have dash mounted video camera's, and this little stunt is now on tape...and is unbeatable.

250 buxs is chump change. ohio is much more expensive. kiss the license bye bye. if u manage to avoid jail time ur lucky. if u get caught again, u could be looking at a much longer suspension, higher fine, jail time, and ya might wind up gettin the bike impounded. there's no excuse for stunting on the street. u made the choice, now pay the price.

You thought you could be cool and ride on 1 wheel for a while. There was a time I thought that was cool too. You got caught now take your punishment like a man. And think about how cool you were while you walk and beg for rides for the next 6 months.

if your bike has enough power to do a decent weelie, it should easily be able to outrun a P.O.S. crown vic.. have somebody wire up a kill switch to your rear lights and put your licence plate on a choke cable that you can yank out of sight.
lot easier to not get a ticket than to try and beat it in court
Gun and Go.

Quit doing wheelies on the public roads. You give other riders a bad name.

Try pleading & begging in court.
Don't say "no other traffic", they'll come back with
'if you didn't see the cop, you weren't sufficiently aware of your surroundings`.

Your state may have a "driver intervention" course.
Just be glad your head is intact, you didn't hurt someone else- all you got was a ticket and not dead.
