What does the error say..

You can check what graphics card you have by

Right click on your desktop >> Properties >> Settings

in the Display box it will tell you what your graphics card make and model is.. ATI or Nvidia

then download the latest driver for you card

ATI

http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

Nvidia

http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

Hope that helps

First of all, Shelley, you need to check that your graphics card, your CPU and system RAM, meets the minimum requirements of the game that you're attempting to play.

To do this, click on 'Start' at the bottom left of your desktop. Move your cursor up to where it says 'Run' and type 'dxdiag' in the little dialog box that appears (without the inverted commas) and press 'Enter'.

On that first page that appears you need to look down to where it says 'Processor:', and just below there, where it says 'Memory:'

You need to have at least a Pentium 4 1.4 GHz processor and at least 256 MB RAM.

Next, you need to click on where it says 'Display' at the top of that screen. This will show you the name of your graphics card and how much RAM it has installed.

You need at least 128 MB of onboard RAM. (This will be a different figure than the RAM mentioned above. This is RAM that's dedicated to provide your graphics.) Without knowing what graphics card you have, I can't say with any degree of certainty whether you meet another requirement ... that is, your graphics card has to be capable of utilising Shader model 1.1. You also need to be running Windows XP.

Actually, it's no use going to the ATI website for drivers unless you have an ATI video card (graphics card). You may just as easily have an NVIDIA graphics card.

If you are able to run Broken Sword: The Angel of Death, you might be interested to know that there's a patch available that you can download. The first url below will tell you what it's for, and here you can download it too.

The second url gives details of the requirements for running the game.

The third and fourth urls are for NVIDIA and ATI, in order for you to download any updated graphics drivers that may be available.

I do hope you can get it sorted.
