How do you do it? How can you avoid laying awake at night thinking of how it would be if things could work?

*sigh* ♥

yes, time will cure such illness. Another thing you can do is to accept your reality. Stop fantasizing because it only prolongs suffering. Catch your self when you are think king about that person and shift your thinking to something esle. You have set you emotional mind to a frame of delusion. Stop feeling sorry for your self and with time the ghost will disappear.

I feel you pain, natalie...:o( My very first long term relationship (7 years on and off) we met in our early twenties. He knows all about me and my family and we have a *history*. We broke up years ago and I don't know how to contact him but I am not in love with him, but I *love* him as I consider him part of my *family*. There are so many things I would like to talk to him about - things only he would understand since he knows me so well. I've even called his mother- but she doesn't know where he is now. But, back in 1996, I fell in love with someone, and it was hot and heavy for a long time, but he decided he really wanted to be with his previous girlfriend. (He had this thing about *big girls*- and I'm not fat, or fat enough for him, and REFUSED to gain weight for him, so he left me for his huge girlfriend.) I was really in love, or thought I was, with him. We had a lot of fun together. But unfortunately, he preferred large women. Not sure if I answered your question completely, but those were the first experiences I could think of. Alas, I am all alone now :o(

*sigh* if it is possible, I, can't figure it out. that happened to me, where it would have been great between us, but we just couldn't be together. if only there were a way... anyway, even though I've come to terms with it, I can't help but think about it, especially when I hear a question like this.

It is possible but dont be shocked if you dont also for a while, cause that where you heart lies unto for now. What you want and your focus, of course your gonna keep thinking about it. Thats why people say meet other people at times like this, you may find better.

I feel so blessed that I have never fallen in love with anyone who has not fallen in love with me first.

I think I make a conscious decision & effort to not waste my time & energy on anyone who cannot reciprocate my feelings.

my friends have been thru something like this and I know it must hurt so much coz I can see them cry thru the night.

the BEST thing to do is to divert your attention on something productive.

STOP thinking of "scarcity" like :
"he's the only one I can fall in love with"

Focus on "ABUNDANCE":
"There are MILLIONS of Men in the world with his traits
who would appreciate me as I am and who would be able to reciprocate how I feel."

easy to say difficult to do... NOT!

your MIND is the most powerful tool you may use to change your Universe.

use it wisely.

it is, but its hard. you cant stop thinking about someone if you love them. and if you really want to be with them, it makes you wonder what would happen if you were. i know it sounds hard, but you should keep your eyes open for other guys. you deserve so much better. heck, if this certain "someone" doesnt love you, its not worth waiting for them .. its their loss! but also, it takes time to recover a broken heart - i've been there .. just remember that there is another guy out there for you.

I don't think you can.

I used to think about this one girl all the time like 3 years ago. But as time went by, i thought about it less and less and less and less. And now, the rare times i do think about her, i just think about her as the one that got away, no different than any other girl who'se turned me down.

And it doesn't bug me anymore, so it's cool :P

OMG! its really Tough. We really cant stop thinking. If God grants me a wish i would ask him to make me forget of all those that happened in the past.

I guez that would give sort of comfort.
