Sorry Rebeca, they shut it down from approximately 1-5 AM to do maintenance. There is an overnight bus service. Check http://transit.511.org/providers/night.asp for more info.

No - BART closes every night. The last trains usually depart the endpoints around midnight, and start back up around 4am. There are some owl buses that are becoming quite popular, but I haven't tried them yet. Check out www.bart.gov for more info and schedules.

no i have been on the bart the way back from san francisco and i think it closes its not 24 houres

no it doesnt, i think service stops like around 11 or 12 oclock and starts back up 4 or 5am.

When I lived ther 20 years ago, it sure did. But it wasn't reall safe at night.
