I cant stand some people. why is it that you can joke about anything but when it hits home you get defensive?

** PLEASE READ **

for instance there was a question asked and i didnt agree with the asker. i posted my response which was contrary to everyone on that page. i gave my opinion and didnt find the need to console or sympathize because that wasnt what the question was. because of my difference in opinion and lifestyle ( growing up in new york city area ) i am not like most of the world. i am very diverse and have many layers. so people gave me thumbs down because of this and i feel as though people gave me thumbs down because i didnt sympathize with them. i probaby lost fans and contacts but if you cant take me for the way i am then i personally dont care. this isnt a rant or rave but merely a set up to asking you to check the question and give me thumbs

i agree with your response to that question 100%.....well, maybe more like 75%...if people are offended by questions like what $mitty (and others) post, then they shouldn't select them to read further....however i do think that it is very disrespectful to post such things.
i don't know.....i don't get offended very easily and have yet to be offended by anything that has been asked here. i'm sure though that if something 'hit close to home' with me then i might be.....i don't know....i gave you a thumbs up anyways because i understand your point of view and i respect that your not afraid to express it :o)

In My Defense. I didn't Bash you or think your Opinion Didn't Count. I disagreed strongly with your opininion and Thumbs downed it cause you were being honest and gave an Intelligent response to something You didn't agree with. Now I coulda reported you, but I didn't. Why??? Cause you did absolutely nothing wrong. I am not a big enough asshole to Report everyone who didn't agree with me. Yeah, You probably lost contacts. I am sorry for that. That wasn't your fault. Nor was it mine. You Disagreed. I disagreed with your thought. That is what the damn Thumbs up/Down things are for. The Flags are for the others who don't think like you and just want to be assholes. I don't think your response was to piss me off. So I took no offense.

It is a sad day when people wear their hearts on their sleeves. I thought that it was common knowledge when you signed up for p/s that very little here is serious. If they want to be serious than maybe they need to go to one of the other sections where things are not taken as a joke. I agree with you. I gave you a thumbs up.

I understand your point as well as his. The great think about this is you both have a right to voice your opinions. "Don't take anything personal," is your point, just make sure you do the same. It's hard to make jokes and not step on anybody's toes. That's just the way it is. Accept the backlash that comes with risky jokes. Btw I gave u a thumbs up.

That's the way it is on here. I have received violations for simple yes or no answers. Get used to it. When you actually say something that offends, it might happen. (and I didn't give you a thumbs down, I don't do anything but thumbs up unless I don't like the answer, but never a thumbs down)

I'm neither going to give you a thumbs up or down. The question asked was a serious question. People have died, committed suicided, had their whole world devasted over these cruel acts. I have a very morbid sense of humor and yes I laugh when Sarah Silverman talked about being raped by a doctor calling it bittersweet cause she was Jewish. So I'm not going to call myself holier than thou I'm not. The main thing is sometimes you need to keep your opinions to yourself or think about how they are going to hurt people.

I don't know exactly why, However; you just keep your honesty and true opinion your own and don't worry about what others think, after all, its you who has to live with yourself, not us. I commend you for telling it like you see it. Who wants a copy cat or a follower. New and original opinions are what makes this so great. Phooey on those with closed minds and 1 tracked thoughts. They sound to much like our commander in chief.

I understand that many people have different thoughts on different things. But Im pretty sure someone is on here that has been raped and I can assure you to THEM it isn't funny.

Just think, If something hurtful happened to you and someone joked...you would be hurt...

I respect your thoughts though

Because I too sometimes laugh @ things that are iffy...But thats me...So be you...

And whoever think $mitty is serious are just stupid..this is P&S....those ppl who are naive need to go to R&S

Edit: I grew up in a small quiet town, so I'm sort of, naive about things, but when It comes to rape, murder and drugs, our town has it. So I'm jaded to the whole thing.
