Well someone told me their doctor said castor oil and an orgasm. Dirnk a table spoon of castor oil and have as many orgasms as you can then go to bed, and you will wake up in labor. DOn't know if it works but I plan on trying it as soon as possible. Although I just imagine it will make you sick, I have also heard that the pain from contractions also makes you sick and if yesterday morning was any indication they do. I am almost 39 weeks and my baby is really large(10lbs) and I am really ready to have him too. Also I have heard that curb walking is really good for starting labor. That is were you walk with one foot on the curb and the other in the gutter, for about a half a mile and then turn around and do all the way back. I am gonna try that too, good luck and congrats on the baby!

My wife always said a spaghetti dinner always did it for her. But seriously, visualize large round openings. Visualize a flower blooming. Visualize something like a large train tunnel and try to relax as much as possible and to relax the muscles in your pelvic area. Do this particularly before going to sleep at night and this should help prepare your body for childbirth

You can walk around for several weeks dilated- I did for 5 weeks dilated to 3 and effaced to 25%. Once you are in labor- walking, laying on your left side, etc. will help to get your labor moving.

whatever you do, dont drink castor oil. im sure someone will suggest it to you here or elsewhere. i did that with my first child, foolishly, and it made me so sick. safe alternatives (with your dr's ok) are walking, and even sex! if nothing else, just wait it out i know it's hard but there isnt anything much more you can do. :(

I wouldn't rush it... 40-42 weeks is full term - you're not quite there yet :)
