I think that's too soon, the baby's sex organs aren't visible until about 4-5 months

The baby's sex organs are not noticeable on any ultrasound until 16 weeks. A 3d or 4d ultrasound won't be able to see it either as far as I know. Good Luck, Sorry if I am wrong, I'm just going by what the doctor told me when I asked her the same ?...

Will the scan reveal the sex of my baby?
It can do from about 18 weeks, but if your baby is lying in an awkward position it may be difficult to tell. Some hospitals have a policy of not telling women the sex of the baby, as it is not usually possible to be 100 per cent certain.
When can an ultrasound determine the sex of the baby?
You may have an ultrasound between 18 to 20 weeks to evaluate dates, a multiples pregnancy, placenta location or complications. It may also be possible to determine the gender of your baby during this ultrasound. Several factors, such as the stage of pregnancy and position of fetus, will influence the accuracy of the gender prediction. To be 100% sure you will have an anxious wait until the birth!

I dont have a website and I did not have a 4d ultrasound, but I did find out at 11 almost 12 weeks. They said that it was 80% and stayed the same when I went in for my 16 almost 17 week scan.

I had a 3d/4d ultrasound at 24 weeks and they still couldn't tell b/c the baby had her legs crossed. They couldn't tell me for sure until 27 weeks. They might be able to tell you a sex at 9 weeks but I wouldn't completely count on it until a little later.

I'm nearly 15 weeks and I have already booked in for my next ultrasound at 18 weeks and 5 days to find out. My husband said he doesn't want to know but I do. I think it's very exciting and the day of the birth is going to be exciting enough without having the surprise of the babies sex. I want to start buying stuff too. Goodluck! Ultimately, it's up to you.

I have never heard of that, but I do know that it is recommended not to get extra ultrasounds unless it is medically necessary. Ultrasounds are safe, but you still do not want added exposure if it is not necessary. I would wait until 20 weeks. Is there a big rush to know? Knowing at 20 weeks still gives you about 20 more weeks to get things for the baby.

3D/4D ultrasounds are new... they didn't have them even 5 years ago when I had my son however..... I don't see how there could be any truth in that!! The sex organs don't develop until the baby is around 18-20 weeks old! So.... I think you are just going to have to wait!! Good Luck and Congrats!!

9 weeks is still too early dispite what you were told...the babies body has not fully formed and doesnt form the sex organs until it is around the 4th month of pregnancy...if you want, a really good book to have is "What to expect when you are expecting"....it tells you basically everything you need to know about pregnancy and even gives pictures of what the baby looks like at different times during the course of your pregnancy..hope that answers your question.

I had a regular u/s at 17 weeks and they couldn't tell me then what the sex of my baby was.
I'm currently 22 weeks now.
I'm supposed to have another u/s at 25 weeks.
If you want the most accurate results, you need to wait until you are a LEAST 20 weeks along.
