Yes. Diamonds can be mined peacefully with no genocide involved. Or it can involve genocide in the UK case "Blood Diamond"

No, I would not. The tradition of blood diamonds is that those very specific diamonds were known to be the objects of greed that led to violence: that someone died for those exact stones. If you extend this to wealth more generally, or to empire-building, then you could argue that every diamond is a blood diamond, since the entire trade of precious stones, and especially diamonds, has been fought over many times over the centuries.

Also, I think the UK is significantly more civilized, and has been for longer, than most other countries. It does not deserve such a hostile designation for what is, after all, the symbol of the whole nation and not merely the sovereign.
