I am an English / Irish American and was recentlly at a fantastic wedding for my Indian friend. Before the wedding, her four sisters told me that my dresses would never do and presented me with 8 saris. 7 are more casual and one is very elegant and formal. I wore several of them durring the three days of the wedding ceremony. They are so beautiful, easy to wear, and comfortable that I'd love to wear them occasionally as incorporated into the rest of my casuel clothes. I am an average Home Mom. I go to pick up my kids at school, brownie leader, Soccer mom, knitter, grocery shopper. I wear pants, shorts, skirts, tee-shirts and jeans like everyone else.
Can I wear my saris sometimes? Would people be offended because I'm not Indian?

To the guy comparing a Muumuu to a Sari... You have no clue whats going on here.
To the Irish guy who wants to wear a sari, too... How about a kilt? I saw an awsome one a few days ago.
Thanks everyone. If you see someone at a parent-teacher conference wearing a peach and aqua sari, it will be me.
