genuine louis vuitton = rip-off? Knock-off = smart shopper?

genuine = $200 vs. knock-off = $20.

besides u can't tell any difference if u look from 3 feet away.
If i was a female, I would never buy a genuine bags & pay hundreds more. Personally buying a genuine is really getting ripped off by the owner of the company.

I would disagree...sure you can buy a 20 dollar knockoff, but it won't last more than a year or two at best. A well made, quality bag will last a lifetime and probably even be passed on to your daughter if you take care of it. So if you do the math, by buying knockoffs, you will buy many more of them over time and could have had one or more quality bags for all the money you spent on junk.

The same applies to all the clothing stores out there that brag that every item in the store is 1, 5 or 10 dollars. The clothing doesn't last and you'll have to buy more of it next season when you could have had a few timeless quality pieces that will last for years.

That is why I do not wear big name logo brands. An ordinary person will not tell the difference between the two. Also, some people will just automatically think your authentic logo bag is a fake. Also you are giving FREE advertisement to these same companies that are charging $$$$$. If the company is going to pay ME money to advertise, then that is a different story. Some (most) women like logo bags too because of self-confidence reasons (logo bags = I'm a somebody and you are not).

I will just stick to the not so well known named handbag brands (i.e. Botkier, Kooba, Gustto, Anna Corinna, Longchamp).

I would by a Genuine Louis Vuitton bag if I had the money. I wouldn't wanna by a Knock-Off because that just makes you look like you have no class. If you can't afford a real one, don't buy one at all. Buying a genuine one makes you more classier.

When I was younger I bought the fake version, that was because I couldn't afford it. But I do own a real Louis Vuitton now and any woman can tell you it's nothing like owning the real thing! Looks better, last a life time, and knowing that you are carrying a designer bag it worth the price.

Oh, and BTW, A LV bag is soo not 200$. More like 700$ for a small bag. 200$ is for a freakin' pen. I'm dead serious too. At Holt Renfrew, a pair of LV pens is 200$.

I only buy real, not because I have a ton of money, but because a lot of child workers make the bags due to the fact that the factories are not regulated. That isn't right, so I try to avoid it at all costs!!!

i see both sides of this equation. I understand the idea of trademarks and the idea of respecting them.
But, $700 for a purse?!

All of these"elite" designers have set themselves up to be replicated and duplicated since they have positioned their items to be so closely associated with status and the air of "haughty tau-tie"

Ha...I used to paintings at this company, and that that they had cameras everywhere staring at over us the staff. there became into this guy that I by no skill met, he became into have been the crucial workplace became into - and have been they watched all persons. He used to call me for stupid motives, asking me stupid stuff, yet he became into humorous and he had such a appealing low voice. I heard from the different females that had met him that he wasnt that undesirable looking the two. shame I left before we met.

I agree with u 100%. why pay more when u can pay less? why pay extra so that louis vitton can purchase another mansion when u can save for down on ur own home.
