San Diego Padres will win the NL West. Amazing rotation anchored by possibly the best 1-2 punch in baseball: Peavy, and Young. Veteran starters settle the rotation with a young stud in Germano at the end. Bullpen rarely blows leads and teams rarely want to face that 7-8-9 combination of Meredith, Linebrink, and Hoffman. Hitting isn't great but its no worse then any of the other teams in the division and they seem primed to make a move for a big bat to help out.

If the Dodgers keep hitting like they are now, they'll take the west. San Diego's bats are too weak (worst batting average in the majors) to support even that excellent pitching staff.

The Padres but it'll go down to the wire. Pitching will carry the day even though the Dodgers will make it interesting.
