Surely in the interview they'd look shocked if they didnt understand the context and wouldn't it be more sensible to say the county in an interview anyway seems a little strange to me . They are good for giving you feedback on the day maybe if you explained your use of black county effectively they would understand it was not racist and as such not refuse the job. Personally i think you may be fibbing or the interviewer interpreted the use of the phrase incorrectly as they had not heard it before

I know something of what you might feel.
Twice, I've been the 'only' applicant for the job - and didn't get either.
It's a bit like the woman who was the only entrant in a cake making competition, and got 2nd place.

That is so wrong and unprofessional. Don't feel sorry you didn't get the job. Either the recruiter was a prat or she does represent the company, and then no one in their right mind would work there.
all the best, you'll get something up to your talent and personality I'm sure.
cheers and ditch the crap ;-)

That's crazy !.
Maybe a lucky escape for you mate, i would not want to work for a company that thought talking about the west midlands area was being racially unaware !!.

o that is quitee sad. discrimination should really stop especially in 2007. that might be financially wrong also..and might might be able to be carried to the police..i dunno. you could sue her..lol. i would suggest not to take jobs for which the people look for race.
