I think it's against privacy rights. What do you think?

All sexual predators are required to register their addresses with the local authorities. Who cares about a criminal's privacy? Why should they be entitled to privacy?

There is no cure for pedophilia. Even those who have been castrated have committed more sex crimes. It is a psychological disease. My opinion is that any adult who has sex with a child ought to be given the death penalty. Society should not have to bear the burden of maintaining these criminals in prison for the rest of their lives.

At least by posting their pictures and addresses, parents can be more vigilant and knowledgeable about possible dangers to their children's welfare.

I think it's a good idea. I think all convicted criminals names and addresses should be published online for all to see.

In years past when communities were closer and smaller with fewer newcomers, everyone knew who to stay away from. I grew up in such a community. Now, you don't know.

Publishing the names of all these predators, sexual or otherwise, would once again level the playing field and give law abiding citizens the upper hand.

And, no, I obviously don't think it is against privacy rights. When a criminal is tried in a court of law, it is most often an open hearing that can be attended by any citizen. All, can't possibly attend so publishing their names and addresses is just an extension of the criminal's legal hearing.

No, court cases are public knowledge. It is listed everyday in the newspaper who is arrested, along with their address and what they are being charged for. You can pull this information anyday you choose. Showing a list of convicted sex offenders is just making it easier for anyone to see. Which they should have the right to. I was a victim of a sexual assult as an adult so I know how life changing it can be. Anyone who would do that to a child should be castrated. The public has a right to know it's surrounding dangers and that's what this scum is. It's sad to think people out there care more about a felons right to privacy than a childs right to not be molested.

Someone who behaves that way does not have the right to privacy in our society. What about the rights of the rest of us?

There are lots of places you can go on line to obtain the addresses of convicted sex offenders.

But even with those resources, the predators keep sneaking around murdering and raping and kidnapping. Witness the punishment phase of a trial going on in Florida right now of that Couey scumbag. He was a sex offender living where he wasn't supposed to be and killed that little 9 year old girl in a most horrible fashion.

No punish is too cruel for him or those like him.

I can understand that many people feel they have a right to know where convicted sex offenders live, but the argument "you lose your right to privacy when you become a criminal" is a very poor argument.

If one set of criminals lose their right to privacy, shouldn't *all* criminals lose that right? We should know the identity and address of all bank robbers, auto theives, people who were carrying 5 ounces of marijuana, miscreant vagrants, and drunk/intoxicated/medicated drivers. That would be a lot of addresses to track.

What is a "criminal"? Someone who breaks the law? Have you ever been ticketed for speeding? Then you are a law-breaker...a criminal.

I would recommend keeping their addresses on file with local law enforcement and that if you want that information you go ask for it, but I wouldn't put it online.

The real problem with sex offenders is the incredibly high rate of repeat offenders--once they have done it, they will almost always do it again.

I thinks it's a good idea. Our local Sheriffs office puts a booklet twice a year and lists all predators and offenders with their photos and their addresses. We have a right to know where these people live especially if it's in our neighborhood with our children. You lose all privacy when your a criminal.

Having a young child, I want to know if any sexual predators are in my neighborhood. They give up their right to privacy when they sexually abuse a child and it is for the betterment of society that their addresses and names be made public so that people are aware.

I think most convicted sexual predators are not allowed online, particularly where they may come accross children, I am all for freedom, but child safety trumps privacy in this case.

forget their privacy. What about the victims? Did the predator care about their rights?! Wake up! people know there are consequences for their actions, and this is just one of them.

I think you have to be the most ignorant, idiotic, moron that ever lived to believe that.We all have the right to protect ourselves and this is good way to alert the public about this.Watch the news, this is a VERY serious problem.
