ROLEX NO CONTEST

It's pretty much up to you & your taste, I personally prefer the look of Breitlings over Rolex.
The quality of the 2 brands are very similiar (both are assembled mostly by hand) and neither use standard (eta) movements, although Breitling uses a modified version of a eta movement.
Both have excellent resale value, retaining over 80% of the original costs (depending on condition).
Rolex is by far the most popular of all the high-end watch makers - but is also known for all the fakes that exist and seem to be just about everywhere.
Many Breitling models have a very noticeable curved anti-sun glare crystal that sits over the face of their watches that is unique to Breitlings.
I would like to suggest that you take a look around your local jewelry stores and check out some other brands also, every watch I have ever bought I simply loved, wait until one speaks to you. You have many brands to choose from, my personal favorites are Patek Philippe, Panerai, Jaeger LeCoultre, Franck Muller, Cartier & Audemars Piguet.
If you'd like to save a few pennies you may also want to look into something like a Mont Blanc a well known name that also makes quality automatic watches.

Rolex has better resale value but it all depends on who your asking this ? to. Because a person like myself would say Rolex and Cartier are the beginning and the end and that there are no comparisons but you get a pilot or a member of the armed forces and they would say Breitling all day. So it depends.

Perhaps you could contact Torneau, the store that sells high end watches and ask them. They probably could give you the best answer.
