Bush set the tone for the divisiveness we see here in the U.S. when he said, "You're either with us or against us," and calling everyone traitors for not following him blindly. He also set a divisive tone when he excluded dems from any appts. and the republicans shut dems out of congress....they would not let one dem bill get out of committee.

We don't do that. We argue viciously, argue, protest. The one's who are patriotic do it respectfully, the seditious and politically bigoted less so, but there is no internal enemy powerful enough to make us turn on each other in the way you speak of. Ultimately all patriots would stand together against the seditious and bigoted (which is a small group indeed).

We still might not be decided on anything else, as a patriot doesn't necessarily sit on one side of an issue; they just put their country ahead of their personal philosophy.

We would be on one side regarding what to do with the seditious people who tried to break us up, however.

This is what a democracy is supposed to be like...you can't just have one viewpoint, we must have many sides to what the American people want or else it would be considered a dictatorship.

This country is doing just fine.
