What has happened in american history is NOT fine. What europeans did to the natives was horrible. And what our government did to them over the years was also horrible. There was nothing right about it.

No one seriously thinks that what happend with Native Americans was a good thing, but it did happen.

The Tibetans probably do deserve modernization and autonomy from China. If they want it, they will have to convince China to make them autonomous or take up arms and do it themselves.

It became bad after WW1 because it became clear that global expansion would lead to violent death. After WW2 it became even more engrained because of nuclear weapons.

Why didn't we just take over Iraq?

Before WW1 most countries were expanding their borders, and I don't think anything was wrong with taking the U.S. from the indians. It doesn't have anything to do with modernizing, I don't think we should fool ourselves.

It had to do with expanding civilizations. There were atrocities committed, and those were wrong, but taking the country, I don't think was wrong.

It wasn't right in the West with the Native thing. But there is like...12 Natives left, so no one hears them complain.

I do not think it is OK what the U.S did. But that does not make it alright for other countries to commit atrocities as well.
